PASTOR MARK NIENOW

Pastor Mark Nienow first began attending True Life Church in 2001 and served as a volunteer youth ministry leader with his wife, Andreia. He joined the staff at True Life following graduation from Lutheran Brethren Seminary in Fergus Falls, Minnesota in 2007. Pastor Mark is a native of southeastern Minnesota, and a 1995 graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. In addition, he completed Tentmakers youth ministry training in 1995. His previous ministry work spanned six years, beginning as the Youth Director and then working as the Director of Discipleship Training at a suburban Chicago church. Mark and Andreia have two sons, Luke and Caleb.  He enjoys almost anything connected to cars, football, and family.

PASTOR MARK JOHANNESEN

It’s good to be a part of the Rochester community. My family and I joined the True Life Church family in September of 2018 and are very excited to serve at the church. 

Since 1998, I’ve had the privilege of serving at five Lutheran Brethren churches in rolls ranging from youth pastor to associate pastor to solo pastor. My ministry passions are teaching and preaching God’s word, working with teenagers and encouraging people to use the gifts that God has given them to reach this world for Jesus.  Also, international missions which includes being a part of the Borderless Mexico Mission Trips leadership team.

I grew up in New Jersey and shortly after high school I attended college in Minnesota.

I graduated in 1998 from Northwestern College in St Paul with a degree in youth ministries and while in my senior year I began serving on staff at a church in Eagan, MN. While I was there, I continued my education by completing a course of studies at Bethel Seminary. In 2004, I graduated from the Lutheran Brethren Seminary and shortly after, I met Wendy and we were married in 2005.  Early in 2006, we moved to Marysville, WA to serve at a LB church.  In July of 2007, our daughter Ella was born in Everett, WA.  Since 2008, I have served at churches in McAlisterville, PA, Le Sueur, MN and Moorhead, MN.

I enjoy traveling, playing and watching sports, fantasy sports, biking, 80’s rock music, worship music, gardening and much more.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

BEKA LANG

Hi! I’m Beka Lang and I get to serve True Life as Director of Worship Arts and Young Adult Ministries! It’s already been such an adventure to get here, I can’t imagine what else is in store!

The last year of my life has been full of dreams coming true! I got amazing opportunities, like going to a youth convention as a seminar speaker, releasing an EP of original music, graduating with my BA of Music from Bethel University in St. Paul, and serving as a traveling worship leader in Mexico, Montana, and all over Minnesota. God has worked in and through me and my gifts in ways that I never imagined.

God is so good and I am continuing to live my dreams here in Rochester: leading worship, loving people, even learning to be a barista on the side too! I love seeing the dogs in my neighborhood, telling puns to anyone who will listen, and grabbing coffee with people! Becoming a part of the True Life family is already such an adventure!
